Black Bear – Running Bear has been
a favorite place for bear hunters since
the 1950s.
Season: Dates vary by Bear
Management Unit  and Hunt Number
(Sept. 10-Oct. 26, 2007)

White-tailed Deer - The Upper
Peninsula has traditionally been a
popular spot for deer hunters and so
has the Running Bear
Seasons:
-Youth Firearm Season:
2-day hunt starting 4th Saturday in
September
-Archery Season:
October 1-November 14 & December
1-January 1
-Regular Firearm Season:
November 15-30
-Muzzleloading Season:
Zone 1 (UP): 10 days starting 1st
Friday in December

Rabbits
Statewide: September 15  - March 31

Ruffed Grouse – hunting can be
found throughout the U.P. and is
excellent in the area surrounding the
resort.
Season Dates (all zones):
Sept. 15-Nov. 14 and Dec. 1-Jan. 1

Woodcock
Woodcock hunting season opens the
Saturday nearest Sept. 22 and runs
for 45 days. These dates are set by a
federal framework.
